Office Coffee Machine Capacity: Plan Around the Morning Rush
Plan office coffee machine capacity around peak demand, milk drinks and staffing. Use a practical test brief before choosing equipment for a Dubai workplace.

Office coffee machine capacity should be assessed against your busiest service window, the drinks people request and the people making them. Employee headcount alone cannot tell you whether a setup will work. A machine that suits occasional drinks may create a queue when everyone arrives before the same meeting.
Start with the wider office coffee planning guide, then use this capacity exercise to prepare a more specific equipment discussion with Crack.
Count demand in short windows
Observe a representative working week. Record drinks requested during the busiest 10- or 15-minute periods, separating espresso, longer black drinks and milk drinks. Note visitors and planned meetings as well as regular staff.
Here is an illustrative planning example: if 18 drinks are requested within 15 minutes, the average service rate needed during that window is 1.2 drinks per minute. That does not mean a machine advertised at a similar hourly rate will meet the requirement. Drinks may arrive together, and preparation includes more than extraction.
Measure the complete drink workflow
For a hands-on espresso setup, observe grinding, basket preparation, brewing, milk preparation, handover and the cleaning needed between drinks. Include refilling and other interruptions where they occur. A fast espresso extraction does not remove a bottleneck at the grinder or milk station.
Also identify the operator. A trained person preparing a queue works differently from employees taking turns to make their own drinks. If staff prepare coffee manually, the Barista Course is a relevant training option to discuss alongside equipment.
Use a realistic demonstration brief
- Provide a sample order mix drawn from your observations, including milk drinks if they are common.
- State the proposed operator arrangement and normal cup sizes.
- Ask to assess the complete preparation sequence, with normal cleaning included.
- Record when the first and last drinks are ready, where queues form and whether the routine is comfortable to repeat.
- Discuss how the setup would cope when demand exceeds the observed peak.
This is a proposed evaluation method, not a promise that a demonstration or trial is included with a purchase. Agree on the format and any terms with the supplier.
Shortlist equipment after defining the workload
Crack’s commercial espresso machine collection is a starting point for a staffed office coffee bar. Review the grinder collection as part of the same workflow. Confirm intended use, utilities, servicing and warranty terms for the exact proposed machine.
Do not treat a home machine as office-approved simply because it fits the counter. Equally, a large commercial machine is not a shortcut around limited staff time or a poorly arranged station.
Frequently asked questions
How many cups per day should an office machine make?
There is no single number that fits every workplace. Use measured demand and ask the supplier to assess the exact machine, drink mix and operating pattern.
Does a second group head solve queues?
Only if brewing capacity is the limiting step and the rest of the workflow can use it. Check grinding, milk preparation, space and operator availability too.
What should we send Crack?
Send peak demand, drink mix, operator arrangements, counter measurements and utility details through Crack’s business enquiry page. Ask for a recommendation and written scope based on those requirements.
